It's been six years since we lived in Tokyo. After continually saying we want to go back to Japan someday, in March we decide that our children are finally just barely old enough that we want to actually attempt going to Japan for vacation.
Jan's job doesn't allow too much time away at a stretch, so we decide to pack as much as we can in 10 days: travel across the Pacific both ways, visit favorite places in Tokyo, stay at a Japanese hot spring, spend two days at a Disney park in Tokyo, and see as many friends as our schedule will allow. As Angela points out, it's going to be a lot of fun, but not exactly relaxing.
Anya and Liya actually do pretty well on the flight. A care package
from Grandma does a great deal to help pass the time.
