Right after Christmas, Jan's Mom, his brother Chris, and his sister Skye come to visit and stay through New Year's. Chris and Mom give everyone, of all things, remote control ducks.
We can't resist the opportunity to race the remote control ducks.

We spent a wonderful New Year's Eve celebrating at the home of Eric Candell and Bill Powell. The day after New Year's we make a trip north to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. We spend a nice day exploring the small town and several parks on the island.
