Hiking at Twin Falls State Park
April 2002
In April our friend Ruriko Mikami visits us from Tokyo along with her
mother Akiko. We take them for a hike in Twin Falls State Park in the
Cascade Mountains, only a short drive away from Seattle. We use the
opportunity to try out our new baby backpack on a real hike.

Jan does a short walk through Seattle's Discovery Park to see how Anya
likes the backpack. The coolest feature is the small pouch on the left
shoulder strap. We didn't notice this when we were buying the backpack,
but it contains a very important feature...

A rear view mirror! Here at the beginning of our Twin Falls hike, Jan
checks on Anya.

Anya seems to be doing fine, even if she looks like she just ate
something sour

fallen old growth tree

We made a separate trip to nearby Snoqualmie Falls in North Bend. Akiko
and Ruriko check out the view from the viewing platform above the falls.
