Orcas Island

February 14–16, 2002

For Valentine's Day and Angela's birthday (February 15th), Jan took Angela, Anya, and Angela's mom E-moon up to Orcas Island in the San Juans Islands north of Seattle.

Every trip to the San Juan Islands starts with a fun ferry trip

The ferry ride isn't too long, and Anya seems to enjoy it

The yellow octopus with a beanie is named "Scooter", and is one of Anya's favorite toys (and snack)

The ferry pulls in to make a stop at Lopez Island

Sunset the first night at our inn at Deer Harbor

Anya is up early the next morning, which means we're up early too. The marina is just beginning to wake up as well.

We go for a short hike in Moran State Park

The lovely (if somewhat redundantly named) Cascade Falls

Jan and Angela at the top of Mt. Constitution. We've got perfect weather, and can see all the way up and down the Cascade Range

End of another relaxing day on Orcas
